Lemme start afresh.... :)

Life has suddenly come to a halt and I am least in the condition of even acknowledging the sudden escalation in my life. Now that might sound like an oxymoron but it’s true.I am up with new responsibilities, supposedly something I am still trying to come into terms with and there’s a whole lot of world I feel I am straggling behind in my new persuasion.I have a life beyond my professional obligations and I almost seem to be giving that small subcordate niche of mine a total off in my bid of feeling awfully dead beat in my everyday’s toil!!!

Life is becoming hectic and for now I can make out my losing on the much needed resilience front.Hoping to getting it back soon.Lemme endeavour a little to get my basics back to the track.Amen....

Shopping!!!!!!

I am glad that I spent my full day shopping again, something I have been doing frantically since a week.I’d have had roved in almost the whole of major Delhi shopping centres…Connaught Place,Kamla Nagar,Lajpat Nagar…to name a few…and today,I completed my spree in The Great India Place,Noida too…Great place to spend time with friends…has almost all the brands available…I missed Westside though…couldn’t use the free voucher I got from Lajpat Nagar’s outlet… :( The charm of shopping in malls in these scorching summers is quite evident…just that the bargaining takes a back-seat :( It’s not that I am a bond when it comes to negotiating but the sense of victory on getting something in even a couple of bucks less is quite thrilling.

Shopping is a literal stress booster…..Window shopping as well as it’s opposite are equally satisfying.Just that you feel guilty for two days looking at your pay cheques but thankfully the remorse vanishes soon…and you are back on the track…I’m kinda passing through the first set of emotions right now…considering the amount I have squandered today…..just hoping that the feeling wanes soon….

Seems like I am becoming a oniomaniac…..given my these stints of recklessly purchasing everything coming my way…and dumping them later….And in my such obvious obstinate vagary,I’m also being asked to bridle my extravagant impulse almost everyday by my parents…I hope this too shall pass with my approaching joining as a postgraduate…

P.S. Just went through some web searches over the same....I still don't confer to being a shopaholic....I am okay.... :)

In\Out...the fine equipoise....

A pretty sad day in toto…which I happened to spent staying at home solely…the previous week seemed hectic enough.. for my lame soul had been venturing out of home everyday, something which off-late it had got unaccustomed to owing to my long hibernation period. Now when I almost got accustomed to this frenzied routine,I am feeling duped but thankfully it’s gonna last soon…and then may be you guys would see me cribbing more.... ;)

All of a sudden, everything around seems to be jostling through in mad rush. There’s IPL towards it’s closing stages with the yester season’s last rankers gearing to showcase a final apogee....the new ministry finally swearing in to hopefully rescue us from the current financial turmoil and may be save us from future terrorist attacks and internal riots by considerate tactics. Then, there are all sorts of people and experts and monomaniacs trying to succour anyone and everyone possible.

With so much muddling around…delightedly not in literal terms…it’s acceptable for a temporary batty mind to get a little frayed in the tiff. But seriously,is it not a perennial phenomenon occurring around!!Why at times,it has to bother so much…like it’s doing now.May be it has something to do with our cognitive profligacy.Never mind,I’d try finding that out soon…the Freudian theories should surely help ;)

An ordeal finished....

The last two days had been terribly horrible. Never ever even in my dreams, I had thought that medical examination in a government set up, a mere formality for securing admission in post graduation course, will turn out to be such a major ordeal. I have spent all years of my life after school (not that the time frame has been very extensive...but that constitutes a significant proportion of my comprehending sentient years!!) in a government medical college studying and working. It hasn’t never really been a heavy task understanding how appalling things are to get a work done in a government hospital. Everyone must have witnessed it....some or the other time....they are kinda notorious for lobbing out ill treatments here and there...only if you have gone with some personal reference, you could perhaps think of being able to surpass the callousness eventually incurred over you....otherwise, if you coincidentally get some work done properly, I must say try out somewhere else in life’s context also because you ought to be damn lucky... ;)

Knowing that we are already doctors, maximum from Delhi colleges only...these people almost didn’t care to show any reverence to exemplify the courtesy which ideally should have been bestowed upon us as a matter of similar professions. From calling us fasting at 9 AM to scolding with their eerie directions to waiting redundantly outside their MSS office amidst colossal morning OPD rush and to frivolously bamboozling us with their slowest possible efforts of finishing this rather stupid formality of examining us....they kept us lingering around for almost 7 hours till 4 PM.And not to mention that the person in authority, the very honourable Medical Staff Surgeon was fiercely irascible and looked very peevish inspite of a pretty face.

Now that it is over, I seriously keep thinking where do we as an institution go wrong in handling out these trivia despite not even being that busy in general nuisances. It’s after all not even that difficult to be able to lend out some sweet words. Just letting go off the frustration in life and maintaining endurance should help. Inevitably delaying things, reprimanding over silly stuff only brings out the worst of us. I know I’d never be that creepy or the time will tell, as my sister keeps saying.... ; )

Voting tales.....

Yes, I have cast my vote....and am feeling pretty good now...one that I have done it and second that this time it didn’t really turn out to be an ordeal with long waiting like the last year’s Delhi’s Legislative Assembly’s elections. I had though pretty equipped myself with a fair amount of sunscreen thinking that I’d beat the waiting of long queues in sun comforting myself with the thought of having fondled myself with supposedly the ultravitae need of the hour. But, I guess...nothing worth that amount of brain was needed to be put into that.

This year, the uncle on duty smeared the ink rather wisely also...unlike the last time when in his certain frenzied mood, the man on duty just daubed my whole nail and adjoining skin with that ink ruthlessly. For almost a month, I had relatives and friends and almost everyone I‘d talk to telling me to get that fungal infection treated. My nail looked a total spoilt in my cousin’s marriage since I didn’t care to take nail paint’s help to conceal that ugly foul. The brown-black colour just won’t fade away and was so uniform that it almost looked like some wrecking fungoid fuzz!!! And the vestiges of the ink must have remained for quite a number of months...something like 3-4.....much to my annoyance…some even indicted that I must not have had been rather bathing well to have that even then... :(Thankfully, that impasse is over.

But something has to happen everytime to kinda keep the stories budding. My right hand’s forefinger has been stained rather than left’s. I tried persuading the person on duty but he just won’t listen...but since he did a rather commendable job of putting the ink right over the eponychium(the cuticle, I mean...heehee!!), I don’t really seem to be giving it much a thought. I am HAPPPPYYY...

P.S. Hey guys,don’t forget to vote….It’s our dharma…and has to be translated into a karma…Good Luck... :)

Beauty...outer has meaning too in this hypocritical world!!

Had just been reading an article in newspaper that talked about the deception related to our outer skins and also how our whole contemplative ideology kindles around that. It cited the example of Susan Boyle who shot to instant fame a couple of weeks back when she sang I dreamed a dream in the show Britain’s Got Talent. Much has been written about her life and countless annals have come up since then stressing the same points about the dwelling swindler akin to almost all of us.

Before this all started hovering in my mind, I was watching Priyanka Chopra dancing to the tunes of Desi girl and like always, I was pouting with the mere beshrewing thought of not being in the same ‘perfect form’ cohort..obviously not meaning being an actress...!!That’s perfectly not my arena... ;)

Howsoever we are told about this entire good good feel giving talk, we hardly seem to be giving it much a think in our daily huddles. And I am quite skeptical about the idea of the world conforming to this rather unfashionable notion also in true proportions. Gone are the times when minimalism would be the major magnetizer...now in the era of advertising and marketing, only smartness sells..and the outer realm is the initial appealer most of the times. Good looking packages come handy. Things might not work out later but atleast you know you’d be looked upon once if you have that in you.

Just a thought....may be we should keep refining our qualities and virtues for a better living...but honing our outer beauty too is not that bad a deal. It’ll probably only take us further.

Nostalgia.....

Saturday...I feel is synonymous to SAD-day. They kinda rhyme too. I was supposed to be going to a friend’s place for my very first “Slumber Party” today. It’s cancelled... :( Infact,I felt totally truly embarrassed when on being asked about how I find such snoozers, as they are sometimes very unpopularly called....I happened to be completely unaware of the term...thankfully not the idea!! I have graduated from an All-girls medical college...unique in it’s own since it’s one amongst the only two all girls’ medical colleges of the world. So, basically the girls and the college both ought to be special (Don’t go by my truant self...it might just be illusionary...I can assure you over that letter thing...!!).So, I was literally kind of looking forward to having full fun and loads of our ‘off-late’ recalcitrant mordant girly discussions with my batch mates there.

Girly discussions....or lemme put it more precisely....discussions where only girls kinda get indulged into (I really doubt whether the term really exists....!!)....aren‘t as babyish and silly as some lame souls might just consider them to be. May be...yeah....many of the times, they might not revolve around intellect based prudence [obviously excluding pre-exam and exam conversations where how much hard you try remaining unperturbed, you invariably get trapped in the vicious array of brain use...leaving the gentle amusing side astray :(...]

College times were great...The nonchalant attitude, the nescience of youth{it’s not that we no more are in that category...but it’s gonna last soon in an year as we turn 25 according to WHO conventions...},the nebular rhetoric of fanfaronade, but unlike the unkempt tales of our male counterparts...ours were modest and so, exclusively for entertainment purposes...

The talks still keep bustling with the mindless giggles...hypothetical fancy fables of new found crushes...but the charisma is a little lost as we no more are those typical frolicsome liberated birds who used to show off their snuggle anytime and anywhere...supposedly we are to show more responsibility...we have that hypermature ‘doc’ prefix added to our profile....!!Life would never be the same again except for, may be, a couple of ephemeral enlivening infrequent slivers...Still...I am looking forward to having one...soon...Friends, plan something fast again... :)

Information on Swine Flu

With WHO already having declared the current Swine flu to have reached Stage four Pandemic, it’s quintessential for each one of us to get cautious.Though the virus still hasn’t been declared to have arrived in the Indian territory but the rapidity with which is spreading is a raiser for alarm for sure. The problem can no way be prevented from occurring but it’s containment is possible by some extra vigilance and precautionary measures. Here’s a brief disclosure of the common queries about this infection.

Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people.

Is the swine flu virus contagious?
CDC has determined that this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it is not known how easily the virus spreads between people.

What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu in people?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhoea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

How does swine flu spread?
Spread of this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.

How can someone with the flu infect someone else?
Infected people may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 or more days after becoming sick. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

What should I do to keep from getting the flu?
First and most important: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Are there medicines to treat swine flu?
Yes. CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir (TAMIFLU http://www.tamiflu.com/default.aspx (see website for indications side effects and dosage) or zanamivir for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with these swine influenza viruses. For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).

How long can an infected person spread swine flu to others?
People with swine influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic and possible for up to 7 days following illness onset. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination?
Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air. Germs can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.

How long can viruses live outside the body?
We know that some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, and desks. Frequent handwashing will help you reduce the chance of getting contamination from these common surfaces.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?
There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

*Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
*Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way. Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
*If you get sick with influenza, CDC recommends that you stay home.

What is the best technique for washing my hands to avoid getting the flu?
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Wash with soap and water or clean with alcohol-based hand cleaner. We recommend that when you wash your hands -- with soap and warm water -- that you wash for 15 to 20 seconds. When soap and water are not available, alcohol-based disposable hand wipes or gel sanitizers may be used. You can find them in most supermarkets and drugstores. If using gel, rub your hands until the gel is dry. The gel doesn't need water to work; the alcohol in it kills the germs on your hands.

Emergency Warning Signs
In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
*Fast breathing or trouble breathing.
*Bluish skin colorNot drinking enough fluids.
*Not waking up or not interacting.
*Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held.
*Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough.
*Fever with a rash.

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
*Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
*Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen.
*Sudden dizziness.
*Confusion.
*Severe or persistent vomiting.

How serious is swine flu infection?
Like seasonal flu, swine flu in humans can vary in severity from mild to severe. Between 2005 until January 2009, 12 human cases of swine flu were detected in the U.S. with no deaths occurring. However, swine flu infection can be serious. In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman in Wisconsin was hospitalized for pneumonia after being infected with swine flu and died 8 days later. A swine flu outbreak in Fort Dix, New Jersey occurred in 1976 that caused more than 200 cases with serious illness in several people and one death.

Can I get swine influenza from eating or preparing pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

Mosaic of thoughts....

Came back from a friend’s place an hour back and I just can’t help myself feeling enlightened with the conversations I had with aunty(her mom) and the fun I had with the English accented 3 years old niece of hers. Right now fully rejuvenated and fresh...As I try recollecting the fruitful time I spent there, I could feel that fresh tranquil vibe passing through me...I’d just try regelating my whole thought process in enumeration here....It’s too jumbled up but worth a try.

# Generations older would always remain fairer and more divinely prudent than ours.

# I hope, as individuals, even we are able to project correct sensibilities to the next cohort.

# Kids are just mind blowingly super-active.It’s difficult to control them.

# Yet they are always fun to be with. Their innocence is just too killing... ;)

# It’s high time to erase ‘I’ and ‘Ifs’ from our dictionaries....these are perpetual cause of our suffering.

# Nothing fumes the vicious cycle of our misery more than our incessant ambitions.

# May be there’s nothing bad in harbouring them but there has to be a set limit.

# I lost a bet today...Chennai won. Pathan, for a change didn’t bat to Warne’s expectations.

# I’m losing track...amidst the IPL tumult. Too much game pressure, it seems.

# No, it’s just been taught to me that it’s all in the mind.

# Just start accepting the life the way it comes to you. Karma is indispensable fixer of destiny.

# Believe it or not, fret or remain calm....everything in the world settles down at it’s pace and according to the best possible way.

# We are just required to have faith in the superpower and soon, the silver lining will shine through.... :)

# Keep gulping gol gappas amidst serious discussions. They help excellently.....

# I have been lured by the little kittie....she’s taking me with her to Adelaide...haha....

# The associations in life are pre-decided. We turn the way we are supposed to be associated as.

# The prolixity and incoherence, of this diary entry is getting exhausting :(

# We can label even that as a coincidence but there has to have a science beyond science. May be it also has some reason....!!

# I think I’d just have some ice cream, may be the inexplicit will become clearer....Things are getting weary....too much food for thought, it seems now.

Mindgames-Keep fretting!!!!

I have just been observing a great deal of things these days-blame it on my relatively disenthralled mind from studies...or my mind’s perennial pointless round the clock buzzing....again something more or less related to the former fixation only-the mind(Someone had once said,“It is far pleasanter to sit comfortably in the shade rubbing red pepper in a poor devil's eyes than to go about in the sun hunting up evidence”.....and inane application of my mind,I guess is functioning hard to breaking this latter corollary!!!)

While chatting and talking,I am finding it rather easy to continue conversing with cribbing and crying mode 'on' since the counterpart also inevitably has some or the other thing in life to fret upon....Take any topic-be it related to you, your job, politics, corruption or any other damn subject, maximum times....or let me say all the times(unless you are talking to a real saint!!)....you’d find the going getting smoother if anyone amongst the group or the duo has anything worth worrying or getting upset upon.If the other person gives you a great piece of news, you might just congratulate him/her,say 'wow',smash smileys or use different exclamations to show your reaction but hardly you’d have anything to carry on in the dialogue unless you start delivering an account of your stunning anecdote!!

So,we can’t really classify this penchant for pothering and fuss creating chitchat to be amongst the bad set of wonts. They bring so much to gossip and not to forget, are superb source of communication material!!! ;)
